Registered Nurse - High Acuity Floor

Schedule

Night shift, 12 hours, 3 days a week. Must be willing to work given shifts with no block schedules.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a high acuity floor specializing in surgical trauma care. The ideal candidate will have a background in managing complex patient populations, including surgical cases, gunshot wounds, and care for quads and paraplegics.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to high acuity patients on a surgical trauma floor.
• Collaborate with nursing support staff, including Nursing Support Techs, phlebotomists, and unit secretaries, to ensure seamless patient care.
• Participate in nurse handoffs with Emergency Department (ED) nurses and admitting units.
• Monitor patient conditions and intervene as necessary.
• Administer medications and manage treatment plans in accordance with physician orders.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related specialty area.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records system.
