Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical Unit

Schedule

This position requires a full-time commitment, working 36 hours per week during 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Overtime may be necessary based on department needs.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) on the Medical-Surgical Unit is accountable for delivering direct patient care to a designated group of patients during scheduled shifts. This role necessitates exceptional assessment skills, proficiency in IV administration, independent decision-making, and the capacity to manage high-stress situations effectively.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing, systematic assessment and data collection of patient conditions.
• Develop a goal-directed plan of care, prioritizing patient needs based on essential requirements and available resources.
• Respond efficiently in emergency situations, adhering to established protocols and maintaining detailed documentation.
• Supervise LPNs, Nurse Aides, and manage assignments within the Medical-Surgical Unit.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program with a current RN license in Colorado.
• Current CPR and Basic Life Support training documentation is required.
• ACLS certification is required within one year of employment; previous related experience is preferred.
• One year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience is preferred for graduate nurses.
