Full-Time Nursing Assistant - 3x12 Hour Shifts

Job Description

The Nursing Assistant performs various patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary to address the personal needs and comfort of patients in an environment that promotes dignity and healing.

Responsibilities

• Perform vital signs and activities of daily living as outlined on the plan of care, inclusive of ADLs.
• Assist with hourly rounding and document care rendered per guidelines.
• Meet nutritional needs of patients by delivering meals, setting up trays and equipment, assisting with feeding, and distributing nourishments.
• Document care and nutrition needs as per policy, protocol, and procedure.
• Maintain patient comfort and safety, including turning and positioning patients, providing skin care, and responding promptly to call lights/alarms.
• Assure rehabilitation needs are met as specified in the care plan, including ROM, ambulation, transfers, and use of assistive devices.
• Identify changes in patient physical and emotional status; report changes to the nurse immediately.
• Participate in shift changeover communication, ensuring relevant information is shared about patient care.
• Demonstrate stronger interpersonal skills and a patient-centered focus.
• Adhere to the Healing Environment principles, promoting safety, dignity, respect, and healthy relationships.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High school graduate or equivalent education with post-secondary education in health or human services.
• 1-2 years of customer service and/or health-related experience.
• BLS certification (through AHA or RQI only) required.
• Basic knowledge of healthcare and/or nursing assistant role.

Schedule

This position involves full-time, 3x12 hour shifts, with day and/or night shifts scheduled as needed. Every other weekend and holidays are required.
