Outpatient Physical Therapist
Job Description
The Outpatient Physical Therapist evaluates assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans according to the patient’s needs and goals, as directed by their physician. This role involves oversight of all therapy services for assigned patients and is focused on creating functional treatment programs that facilitate a successful return to community activities. The physical therapist serves as an educator to patients, families, students, and coworkers while adhering to professional standards and codes of conduct.
Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients.
- Develop tailored treatment plans and goals to facilitate efficient patient discharge.
- Document all patient care in a clear, accurate, and timely manner in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
- Provide therapy under valid physician orders and ensure compliance with insurance approvals.
- Participate in the student program by providing an educational environment and mentorship.
- Engage in professional development activities and maintain current licensure and continuing education requirements.
- Adhere to practice regulations and maintain ethical standards of practice.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of outpatient clinical experience.
- Current CPR certification.
- Active and applicable state license for the location of work.
- Previous experience with Select Medical is highly desired.
Schedule
This position is a 5x8.0 schedule with a start date of 6/1.
