This position offers 10-hour shifts for a total of 40 hours a week, with varying shifts and rotating weekends.

Job Description

As a Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room, you will perform a variety of tasks that support the surgical team, ensuring all surgical procedures are conducted in a sterile environment. Preparation for operations involves organizing surgical instruments, sterile supplies, and ensuring equipment is functioning properly. You will assist with patient setup and positioning while maintaining a focus on safety and asepsis throughout the procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment, sterile drapes, and solutions.
• Assist in the transport and positioning of patients, ensuring proper aseptic techniques are observed.
• Pass instruments and supplies efficiently during surgery, as well as assist with suturing and sponge counts.
• Prepare specimens for laboratory analysis and ensure proper dressing application post-surgery.
• Maintain a clean and organized operating room post-procedure by restocking and cleaning equipment and surfaces.

Required Experience

• 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.

Certifications/Licensure

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TSC).
• Compliance with PA Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73.
