Schedule/Shift

This position includes an 8-hour day shift, with scheduled hours from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM. On-call coverage is required.

Job Description

The Certified Surgical Technologist will work in the Operating Room of Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, supporting the surgical team by preparing and maintaining the sterile field, ensuring the availability of instruments, and assisting with a variety of surgical procedures. The unit primarily serves adult and geriatric patients, with requirements for diverse procedural experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for procedures, ensuring all equipment and instruments are sterile and available.
• Assist surgeons during operations, including passing instruments and anticipating surgical needs.
• Handle sterilization and disinfection of instruments and maintain a sterile environment throughout the procedure.
• Follow universal protocol and participate in time-out procedures to ensure patient safety.
• Manage specimen handling and labeling appropriately.
• Perform necessary wound care and dressing changes post-surgery.

Required Experience

• 2 years of Operating Room Surgical Tech experience is required.
• Strong experience in General OR and trauma procedures, including vascular, neuro, and orthopedic surgeries.
• Robotic surgery experience, specifically in colorectal, GI, GYN, and urological procedures is mandatory.
• Experience with trauma cases such as amputations and gunshot wounds is necessary.

Certifications/Licensure

• BLS certification is required.
• CST certification is required.
