5x8 hour shifts, 11 PM - 7:30 AM; rotating weekends required.

Job Description

The Sterile Processing Tech will be responsible for the sterilization, decontamination, assembly, and wrapping of surgical instruments and trays. This position requires a strong emphasis on aseptic technique and high-level disinfection processes, ensuring that all medical instruments meet safety and quality standards prior to surgical use. The facility provides care to a diverse patient population and focuses on advanced treatment across various specialties.

Responsibilities

• Perform sterilization, decontamination, and preparation of surgical instruments.
• Ensure compliance with infection control policies and procedures.
• Maintain and monitor sterilizing equipment and document processes.
• Assemble case carts and trays according to surgical specialties.
• Support the surgical teams by ensuring the availability of sterile instruments.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing.
• Experience in a Level I Trauma center preferred.
• Knowledge in sterilization techniques specific to various specialty cases such as Neuro, GU, Robotics, ENT, Ortho, Transplant, and GYN.

Certifications/Licensure

• Certification from CBSPD and/or IAHCSMM required.
• BLS certification is not required.
• Active South Carolina license preferred; candidates with a pending license will be considered.
