Job Description

The Endoscopy Technical Specialist will be responsible for preparing instruments, setting up procedure rooms with necessary equipment for endoscopy procedures, and assisting with patient care. This role involves maintaining standards for endoscopy procedures, responding to patient needs during procedures, and ensuring proper handling and reprocessing of endoscopes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain standards for endoscopy care following SGNA/ASGE and CMC guidelines.
• Prepare and set up equipment for each procedure based on physician preferences.
• Assist the nurse in the completion of procedures and in patient positioning.
• Monitor patient needs and respond appropriately during procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by stocking rooms and cleaning equipment as assigned.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and team collaboration.
• Complete a minimum of 4 hours of approved education in endoscopy each year.

Required Experience

• Experience in an endoscopy or relevant clinical setting is preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Certification in basic life support (BLS) may be required.
• State licensure verification will be necessary prior to onboarding.
