This position requires a rotating schedule including Day, Evening, and Night shifts, along with weekend, holiday, on-call, and callback responsibilities.

Job Description

The Level II Registered Nurse in the Neuromusculoskeletal Med Surg unit will be accountable for providing competent patient care that meets established standards, under the direction of the Nurse Manager. Responsibilities may include serving as a charge nurse, preceptor, or committee member, emphasizing clinical practice, service excellence, professional development, and research.

Responsibilities

• Administer patient care and manage treatment plans according to established protocols.
• Monitor patient vital signs and telemetry readings to ensure patient safety.
• Assist with planning and coordinating patient discharge plans.
• Provide mentorship and training to nursing staff and students as a preceptor.
• Engage in unit-based activities, contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

Required Experience

• Two (2) years of medical-surgical experience.
• Telemetry experience is required.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current New York State RN license.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
