Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00.

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality care within the intensive respiratory department, focusing on patient evaluation and treatment as medically prescribed. The role involves educating patients on treatment purpose and procedures, facilitating safe patient transport, and performing essential respiratory procedures and interventions.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
• Explain treatment purposes and procedures to patients and educate them upon discharge.
• Administer physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory equipment, oxygen, aerosol, and nebulizer devices.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal).
• Conduct monitoring processes, including oximetry and capnography.
• Review patients' chest x-rays for further evaluations.
• Assist in respiratory care procedures such as bronchoscopy, chest tube placements, and more.
• Perform clinical assessments including 12-Lead EKG and basic arrhythmia recognition.
• Maintain and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment and perform routine quality checks.
• Record treatments and patient responses accurately while communicating findings with relevant medical staff.

Required Experience

Candidates must possess relevant experience in respiratory care settings.

Certifications/Licensure

A valid respiratory therapist license is required. BLS and ACLS certifications are preferred.
