Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will maintain the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while actively promoting patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, creating individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals in collaboration with patients, families, and the Interdisciplinary team.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Engage in patient rehabilitation programs, focusing on the education of patients and families based on health care needs.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission, ensuring comprehensive patient teaching.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to care providers.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Contribute positively to unit functions and participate in team-building activities.

Required Experience

• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience; one year of ICU experience preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS required prior to the first shift (CIRH only).
