Schedule/Shift

Shift: 3x12 Nights (19:30-08:00); every other weekend and holidays required.

Job Description

Join a fast-paced and high-volume environment providing care for diverse patients presenting with complex medical-surgical and telemetry needs. As a border nurse, you will care for patients transitioning from the Emergency Department and work closely within the scope of medical-surgical and telemetry services. This role will require effective communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary support, including respiratory therapy, social services, and rapid response teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Manage care of patients including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing diagnostic tests.
• Float between Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, and Intermediate Care Units as needed.
• Participate in patient care planning and discharge planning.
• Administer IV therapies and manage various types of lines and therapy protocols.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing required.
• Experience in a high-volume emergency department or border role strongly preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active RN license in Maryland or compact state.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification required.
• NIHSS certification preferred.
