ARMStaffing is looking for a Registered Nurse, Neuro MedSurg (Night Shift) in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

12 hour nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. Weekend day positions are Friday, Saturday, and Sundays. Weekend night positions can be Friday, Saturday, and Sundays OR Saturday, Sundays, and Mondays. Weekday nights require every other weekend or 3 weekend shifts per schedule (weekend shifts = Saturday and Sundays).

Job Description

This position is within a 20-bed Neuro MedSurg unit with a focus on patient care for various neurological conditions including strokes, seizures, and surgical/post-operative spine patients. The unit utilizes the EPIC documentation system and employs a charge nurse 24/7. Additionally, respiratory therapy support is available around the clock.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients with neurological disorders, including those with deep brain stimulators and patients recovering from surgical interventions.
• Document patient assessments and care in the EPIC system
• Monitor and manage patient care under physician orders, including possible titration protocols for specific medications.
• Work collaboratively with respiratory therapists for patients requiring floor vents.
• Supervise and coordinate care with nurse aides (ratio of 1:7-10).

Required Experience

• Strong experience in Neurosciences with a focus on neurological disorders.
• Recent experience with EPIC documentation.
• Proficiency and frequency with G-tubes.

Certifications/Licensure

• BLS (AHA) certification is required.
• NIHSS certification must be in hand at the time of submission.
• ACLS certification is preferred.
