7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 36 hours a week, every other weekend as needed.

Job Description

The Medical Oncology unit at Capital Regional Medical Center is a 33-bed unit dedicated to providing high-quality care to patients undergoing inpatient chemotherapy. This unit is committed to the care and improvement of human life, prioritizing each patient's unique needs.

Candidates will utilize electronic whiteboards and Meditech for documentation, supported by a team including a unit secretary, three CNAs, a Charge RN, Clinical Manager, and Director, ensuring a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer inpatient chemotherapy treatments to patients, following ONS chemo training standards.
• Conduct hourly rounds during the day shift and every two hours after 9 PM to ensure patient comfort and address any concerns.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and maintain effective communication with patients and their families.
• Utilize Meditech documentation systems to maintain accurate patient records.

Required Experience

• Experience in an oncology setting preferred.
• Must have the right attitude to prioritize patient care.

Certifications/Licensure

• Required: BLS certification.
• Preferred: Specialty certification in Medical-Surgical or Palliative Care, as well as ONS certification for chemotherapy administration.
