D/N rotating shift: 7pm-7:30am/7am-7:30pm. Travelers may work at least every other holiday.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Stepdown unit will provide care to patients who require monitoring and supportive care. Responsibilities include assessing patient conditions, administering medications, and coordinating with interdisciplinary teams. The ability to float to units J1-2, J33, and ED, caring for similar patient populations when needed, is essential. Orientation will include ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments, which must be passed to continue employment.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and assess their health status.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Document patient care accurately using the facility's charting system.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals for optimal patient outcomes.
• Float to other units as necessary to meet patient care needs.

Required Experience

12 months of permanent experience in the specialty is required. A reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty is necessary for submission.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active Ohio nursing license or compact state license in hand at the time of submission.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications are required.
