3x12 hours, typically 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, weekdays with some weekends required.
Job Description
The Stepdown Unit provides care to patients who may require a higher level of monitoring but are not critically ill. The acuity of patients may vary, and clinicians will deal predominantly with cardiac patients, including those post-surgery or after interventional cardiology procedures. The unit has an interdisciplinary team that supports the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the Stepdown Unit.
- Monitor and assess patient vital signs, including telemetry readings.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments as per protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop patient care plans.
- Assist in various procedures and perform necessary skills, such as IV management and telemetry monitoring.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 1.5-2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in Medical/Surgical or Telemetry settings.
- 2 years of experience specifically in Stepdown or Progressive Care Units.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current RN License in West Virginia or a compact state.
- BCLS and ACLS certifications required; must be from the American Heart Association.
