ARMStaffing is looking for a Registered Nurse, Neuro Stepdown & EMU (Night Shift) in Morgantown, West Virginia.

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

Shifts consist of 4x12 hour nights, providing coverage every other weekend or 2 weekend shifts every 2 weeks. Travelers are expected to work into the holiday rotation.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide specialized care to higher acuity neuroscience patients in a dedicated Neuro Stepdown and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU). The unit features a total of 31 beds, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 for stepdown patients, and 1:5-6 for EMU patients. This role includes administering treatments and medications as per physician's orders, managing and monitoring patient progress, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage care for neuroscience patients, including but not limited to stroke patients, patients post-craniotomy, and those with EVDs.
• Implement NIHSS assessments and document findings accurately.
• Coordinate with the healthcare team to develop and adjust patient care plans.
• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding post-operative care and recovery processes.
• Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.

Required Experience

• Strong neuro experience, particularly with stroke patients.
• Previous experience in a stepdown or telemetry unit is preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current BLS certification is required.
• NIHSS certification must be actively held at the time of submission.
• ACLS certification is preferred.
