Job Description
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, TN, has a total of 6 beds and supports a patient care ratio of mainly 2:1, with some 1:1 and 3:1 cases. The unit is equipped with advanced technology including Arctic Sun and Continuous EEG monitoring systems. Nurses will be responsible for providing critical care to patients, participating in procedures such as central line placements, arterial line placements, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and intubation, and utilizing the Meditech documentation system.
Responsibilities
- Provide intensive nursing care for critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Assist with various critical care procedures including central and arterial line placements, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and intubation.
- Monitor patient status and adjust care plans accordingly.
- Document all patient care activities accurately using Meditech.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team members to ensure the best patient outcomes.
Required Experience
- Must have ICU experience.
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills are essential.
Certifications/Licensure
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
