Weekly schedule of 36 hours with night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, includes every other weekend.

Job Description

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Horizon Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide critical care to patients. This unit has a total of 6 beds and utilizes a patient ratio of 2:1, with some instances of 1:1 and 3:1, depending on patient needs. The ICU is equipped with advanced monitoring technology, including the latest GE ICU monitors and devices such as Arctic Sun and Continuous EEG.

Documentation is conducted through the Meditech system. The unit is currently experiencing growth, with expansion plans that will double its capacity, leading to more opportunities for professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to critically ill patients in the ICU setting.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Perform critical procedures such as central line placements, arterial line placements, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and intubation.
• Utilize strong critical thinking and communication skills in patient assessments and care planning.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience

• Previous experience in an ICU setting is required.
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current certifications: ACLS, PALS, and BLS are required.
