Schedule/Shift

36 or 48 hours per week, straight nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call as per unit need.

Job Description

The child and adolescent unit caters to patients aged 5-18 years old experiencing acute mental health crises. The unit emphasizes stabilization through an array of group therapies, including Activities Therapy, Mindfulness, Wellness, and Coping Skills groups, alongside psychopharmacological interventions. RNs collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve patient goals, ensuring safe, effective, and therapeutic care.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to pediatric patients in an inpatient mental health setting.
• Participate in and facilitate group therapy sessions.
• Collaborate with team members to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Monitor and assess patient progress and modify care as needed.
• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.

Required Experience

• New York State RN License.
• Minimum of 2 years of pediatric mental health experience.
• BLS certification (AHA only).

Certifications/Licensure

• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) blue card preferred.
• Experience in a large, academic medical center preferred.
