Schedule/Shift

12-hour night shift, with 36 hours guaranteed per week. Required to float between units and work every other weekend.

Job Description

Join our team as a Registered Nurse specializing in Med Surg/Telemetry. In this role, you will be responsible for comprehensive patient assessments, administering medications, coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams, providing patient education, and responding to emergency situations to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments upon admission and throughout the hospital stay.
• Prepare, administer, and chart prescribed medications, including IVs.
• Manage wound care and specialized equipment as necessary.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Instruct patients and families on post-surgery care and medication schedules.
• Recognize early signs of medical deterioration and take swift action to stabilize patients.

Required Experience

Minimum of 2 years of experience in Med Surg and Telemetry.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current BLS (AHA) certification.
• Valid Michigan state nursing license.
