Job Description
The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse provides direct patient care within their scope of practice and directs patient/family teaching along with the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining high standards of care in the Birthplace. Quick and accurate responses to changes in patient conditions and responses to treatment are essential. The RN ensures a safe environment for patients and visitors and utilizes the chain of command when necessary to guarantee patient well-being during antepartum and postpartum periods.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe and effective patient care utilizing the nursing process.
- Provide direct patient care to newborns and mothers.
- Educate patients and families on care processes and health management.
- Oversee and guide the activities of other nursing personnel.
- Respond swiftly to changes in patient condition and treatment responses.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment for patients and visitors.
- Utilize the chain of command when needed to advocate for patient care.
Required Experience
Active RN license. Compliance with all nursing competencies and skills.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current Registered Nurse License (Nursys verification required).
- Health certifications including COVID-19 Vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, and others as required.
