Job Description
The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery will provide care for high-risk obstetric patients and newborns within a culturally diverse population. Responsibilities include circulating on cesarean sections, assisting with high-risk deliveries, administering blood products, and providing breastfeeding support and lactation education.
Responsibilities
- Provide care for obstetric patients and newborns, including high-risk deliveries.
- Circulate during cesarean sections and assist in recovery.
- Administer medications and therapies in accordance with established protocols.
- Educate parents on discharge procedures and newborn care.
- Float to other units as needed, based on facility requirements.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current California state RN license.
- ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and BLS certifications required.
