Schedule/Shift

Shifts are 12 hours long and may vary between Day Shift (07:00 - 19:00) and Night Shift (19:00 - 07:00). Weekends are required, typically every other weekend.

Job Description

This position is within a high-acuity adult Emergency Department, serving as a regional referral center for trauma, cardiac, and stroke cases. The typical patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The emergency department sees a daily census of approximately 175 visits and handles at least 50 ambulance presentations daily. Clinicians may be required to work in ED holding.

Responsibilities

• Care for up to 4 patients at a time, with responsibilities including continuous IV sedation, ICP monitoring, and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
• Participate in STEMI care, stroke care, and trauma care, directing patients to appropriate levels of definitive care such as OR or ICU.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Pharmacy.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency Department setting.
• Previous charge experience is preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
• TNCC certification is preferred.
• A valid Compact RN license must be in hand at the time of submission.
