Schedule/Shift

3x12 hour shifts, Days. Schedule may include weekends and holidays, and may require floating to other maternal units, postpartum, and NICU based on needs.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery will provide care in a high-risk obstetrics environment that includes 15 labor beds and 9 antepartum beds, along with access to 3 operating room suites. This position requires a proactive approach to patient care in a fast-paced setting, ensuring the health and safety of both mothers and infants.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to mothers in labor and during postpartum in a high-risk obstetric unit.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and respond to emergencies effectively.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes for mothers and newborns.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with hospital standards.
• Participate in patient education and support to manage pain and anxiety during labor.

Required Experience

Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery in a high-risk hospital setting is required. Previous travel nursing experience is also required.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current Nevada State Registered Nurse (RN) license is required prior to start.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
• STABLE certification is preferred.
