The schedule requires 12 shifts per month, including 3 shifts per week and 4 weekend shifts.
Shift hours are from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Job Description
Join our team in the 25-bed Intensive Care Unit at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, a Comprehensive Stroke Center, and a Level 2 Trauma Center. The ICU is equipped with advanced technology including GE Monitors, Hamilton Bipaps, Hiflows, Puritan ventilators, and Hemospheres. The unit functions with mid-level providers, trauma surgeons, respiratory therapists available around the clock, and physical/occupational therapy support during the day shift. Documentation is managed through Meditech Expanse. The environment emphasizes updating MyCare boards for patient experience during bedside shift reports.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care in the Intensive Care Unit.
- Conduct bedside shift reports, ensuring an accurate transfer of information.
- Monitor patient telemetry and titrate vasoactive and inotropic medications.
- Perform procedures including intubation, central line and arterial line placements, and chest tube placements.
Required Experience
- Strong telemetry skills.
- Experience in titrating vasoactive and inotropic medications.
- Chest tube experience.
- Previous ICU experience.
Certifications/Licensure
- ACLS certification required.
- BLS certification required.
