ARMStaffing is looking for a Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical (Day Shift) in Weirton, West Virginia.

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

Shifts are 12 hours, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with every other weekend required. RNs will work a rotating schedule of two weeks of days followed by two weeks of nights.

Job Description

The Medical-Surgical unit accommodates 48 beds and provides care for patients with a variety of common diagnoses, including pneumonia, urinary tract infections, altered mental status, gastrointestinal bleeds, alcohol withdrawal, and falls or weakness. RNs are responsible for patient assessments, medication administration, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams while ensuring safe and effective patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage a patient load of 5-7 patients on day shift and 6-8 patients on night shift.
• Titrate certain drips, with exceptions for cardiac drips.
• Coordinate with Respiratory Therapy for treatments and monitor patients on respiratory equipment.
• Perform vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, and basic patient assessments.
• Assist with patient care tasks including bathing, feeding, toileting, and turning and positioning.

Required Experience

Applicants must have at least 1 year of nursing experience. First-time travelers are accepted.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current RN License
• BLS Certification
