ARMStaffing is looking for a Registered Nurse, Intensive Care Unit (Night Shift) in Lubbock, Texas.

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

This position requires 3-night shifts per week, from 19:00 to 07:00. A minimum of 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule is also required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit will provide high-quality care to critically ill patients, primarily in the Neurosurgical ICU. The nurse will work closely with an interdisciplinary team and utilize evidence-based practices to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing complex medical devices.

Responsibilities

• Manage and care for ventilated patients.
• Administer continuous IV sedation and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips.
• Perform ICP monitoring and management of external ventricular drains (EVD).
• Implement infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions.
• Document patient care using the Epic charting system.
• Provide emergency management and care of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, with preference for Neurosurgical ICU experience.
• Charge nurse experience preferred.
• Ability to interpret arterial blood gases and manage dysrhythmias.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current RN license (Compact license must be in hand at submission).
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
