ARMStaffing is looking for a Registered Nurse, Intensive Care Unit (Day Shift) in Lubbock, Texas.

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00). Minimum of 6 weekend shifts required in 6 weeks.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to patients in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit. Responsibilities include managing patients post-craniotomy, stroke patients, and those with external ventricular drains (EVDs). The unit is a Level II Trauma Center with an emphasis on neurosurgical care. The care team has access to interdisciplinary support from physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams, enhancing patient recovery.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care and monitoring for patients in the Neuro ICU.
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, and other invasive lines.
• Administer medications, including emergency medications and continuous IV sedation.
• Monitor patients with ventilators and manage ventilator settings.
• Maintain ICU protocols including ICP monitoring and infection prevention.
• Perform frequent neurological assessments and document changes accurately.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an ICU setting.
• Experience with neuro patients, including those with EVDs and post-neurosurgery.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active RN license (Compact license must be in hand at submission).
• ACLS and BLS certification required.
• NIHSS certification preferred.
