Schedule/Shift

Night shift, 4x12 hours, with every other weekend requirement (2 weekends in a 4-week posted schedule).

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide care in a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center, handling both adult and pediatric patients in non-trauma emergency situations. You will be responsible for a wide range of critical care, including managing dysrhythmias, blood product administration, and caring for patients with multi-system organ dysfunction or failure. The role requires proficiency in phlebotomy, starting IVs, and responses to various emergencies such as traumatic brain injuries and respiratory infections.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the emergency department setting.
• Perform assessment and intervention for dysrhythmias and other critical conditions.
• Manage IV therapy, including initiating and monitoring continuous IV sedation and vasopressors.
• Administer blood products and conduct thorough patient assessments.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure best patient outcomes.
• Document care accurately using the EPIC system.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department setting.
• Experience with Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center protocols.

Certifications/Licensure

• Must have current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications.
• New York state RN license required at the time of application.
