12 nights, 7p - 7a, 36 hours per week, every other weekend. Holiday coverage needed.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department is responsible for protecting, promoting, and optimizing health, preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response. The RN will provide patient-centered care while adhering to all standards of practice and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
- Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management.
- Administer medications safely in accordance with hospital policy.
- Participate in the Nursing Shared Governance Model and support improvement initiatives.
- Engage in professional development and complete mandatory education requirements.
- Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
- Assume duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned.
Required Experience
3 years of current experience working in an Emergency Department and previous traveler experience with knowledge in trauma, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, and pediatric care.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current New York State Registered Nurse License.
- BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
- ACLS Certification.
- PALS Certification.
- TNCC Certification.
