Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for our 8-bed Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit. This unit includes 2 triage rooms for pregnant patients and 2 rooms for antenatal testing, with all rooms being private. The nurse will provide care to neonates, adolescents, and adults in a level 1 nursery setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum settings.
• Assist with a variety of tasks including sterile speculum exams, fetal monitoring, and triaging obstetrical patients.
• Administer medications and IV therapy, including anticoagulants, magnesium sulfate, and Pitocin.
• Manage labor and delivery processes including circulating for C-sections and assisting with vaginal deliveries.
• Provide neonatal care including APGAR scoring, collecting cord samples, and phototherapy.
• Support postpartum patients with education on breastfeeding and newborn care.
• Rotate through various shifts and float to other units as needed, including assisting 1:1 with confused patients.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Labor and Delivery setting required.
• Must hold a valid Michigan nursing license.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, NRP, and EFM required.
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred.
• STABLE certification preferred.
