This position requires three 12-hour night shifts per week, with staffing ratios of 1:6, and an expectation to work every other weekend.
Job Description
As a Telemetry/PCU Registered Nurse, you will provide care for patients in a progressive care unit, specifically focusing on cardiac telemetry. You will be responsible for monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The unit features continuous cardiac monitoring and supports a variety of patient diagnoses including heart failure, sepsis, and respiratory failure.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patient vital signs and cardiac telemetry.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Coordinate with the healthcare team for patient care planning and interventions.
- Assist with medical procedures and manage post-operative care.
- Educate patients and families about health management and discharge plans.
Required Experience
Must have at least 2 years of experience in a telemetry or progressive care unit.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current RN license in Pennsylvania or compact state license.
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
