Night Shift: 12-hour shifts, 3 nights per week.

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care through intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed. This role involves evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, and educating patients on treatment procedures and equipment. The therapist conducts physician-prescribed treatments operating various ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, nebulizers, and performs chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry, and capnography monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
• Explain treatment purposes and procedures to patients.
• Operate ventilatory and aerosol devices as prescribed.
• Perform routine pulmonary function studies and review chest x-rays.
• Conduct suctioning using oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal methods.
• Monitor and document patient response to treatment in charts.
• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment.
• Communicate with physicians regarding treatment effectiveness and patient status.

Required Experience

• Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Experience performing respiratory care procedures in a clinical setting.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred.
