This position is for Night Shift, consisting of three 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery will provide comprehensive care for patients during labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care. Nurses will be expected to utilize their expertise in handling various patient diagnoses and special procedures in a high-risk environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide care in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, OB Triage, Antepartum, and Normal Newborn care settings.
- Perform vaginal and cesarean deliveries, operate in the OR, and start adult IVs.
- Administer blood and blood products, manage drains, and operate epidural and PCA pumps.
- Monitor and administer medications such as insulin and magnesium sulfate.
- Conduct triage of obstetrical patients and perform sterile vaginal exams.
- Utilize Epic for charting and maintain patient documentation.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Labor and Delivery, L&D, and Newborn care.
- Must have charge experience and a proven ability to float as required.
Certifications/Licensure
- Active Compact license required.
- Certifications must include AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP, and ACLS.
