36 hours per week, every other weekend, night shift.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will protect, promote, and optimize the health of patients in the Intensive Care Unit. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for a group of patients while serving as a primary or accountable nurse. The RN will utilize evidence-based practices in managing care, ensure compliance with nursing standards, and foster a supportive environment for patients and families. Essential duties include medication administration, patient education, and participation in professional development initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management.
• Administer medications safely following hospital policies.
• Participate in the Nursing Shared Governance Model and quality improvement initiatives.
• Engage in professional development and complete all mandatory education requirements.
• Provide support to new employees and students in a learning environment.
• Perform Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator duties as assigned.

Required Experience

Six (6) months to three (3) years of nursing (RN) experience with specific experience in critical care settings.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current New York State Registered Nurse License.
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
• ACLS, PALS, and one of the following: TNCC, TCAR, or ACTN.
