Schedule/Shift

This position requires 36 hours per week on Night Shift, with every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in this role will protect, promote, and optimize the health and abilities of patients while preventing illness and alleviating suffering. The RN will assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients within a neuro unit. The RN will also educate patients and their families in health promotion and disease management.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients.
• Educate patients and families regarding health promotion and disease management.
• Administer medications using a working knowledge of pharmacology in compliance with policies.
• Participate in the Nursing Shared Governance Model, supporting improvement initiatives.
• Engage in professional development and complete mandatory education requirements.
• Provide guidance and support for new employees and students in the nursing field.

Required Experience

• Six (6) months to three (3) years of nursing (RN) experience.
• Five plus (5+) years of direct patient care experience.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current NYS RN License.
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
• Unit-specific requirements based on the Compliance Matrix.
