Schedule/Shift

7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts, every other weekend.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will function within the Health System's mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures, assuming responsibility for the care of assigned patients during their shift. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using age-specific criteria and will make judgments based on scientific knowledge and clinical skills. The role also includes planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patient status, recognizing and intervening in changes as necessary.
• Administer cardiac medications including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Cardene, Dobutamine, Lasix, and Bumex, with knowledge of titration and application.
• Function competently with telemetry and possess knowledge of heart rhythms.
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills in patient care scenarios.
• Recognize signs and symptoms of stroke and take appropriate actions.
• Communicate effectively with patients and team members.

Required Experience

• 2+ years of nursing experience in Med Surg/Telemetry.
• Proven attendance record and punctuality for all assigned shifts.
• Experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment, particularly in an acute care setting.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active Ohio RN License or Compact RN License.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Active American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
• Active NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification.
