Night shifts, 3x12-hour shifts per week (18:00 - 06:00). Requires working 3 out of 6 weekends and 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
Job Description
The Registered Nurse will provide care to patients admitted to the Emergency Department. This role involves managing ER hold patients in an Observation Unit setting. The average daily census is around 105 with 135 visits per day, supported by an interdisciplinary team, including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and more. A dedication to delivering high-quality patient care is essential.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to ER hold patients in the Observation Unit.
- Administer medications and monitor patient response.
- Utilize Epic for documentation and charting.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.
- Manage emergency medical situations as they arise.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in an ER or similar setting.
- Experience with various patient conditions and emergency care procedures.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current California RN license is required (no pending licenses accepted).
- Certifications in ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC preferred.
