Schedule/Shift

Five 8-hour shifts, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, guaranteed 40 hours/week.

Job Description

The Utilization Review Nurse will be responsible for assessing patient care plans and ensuring that medical services are appropriately utilized during the length of stay. This position requires close collaboration with healthcare teams to facilitate effective discharge planning and resource management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct utilization review for patient cases to ensure compliance with established guidelines.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop efficient discharge plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to patient reviews and communications.
• Monitor quality patient care according to organizational standards.
• Work with insurance companies to secure necessary authorizations for treatments.

Required Experience

Candidates must have experience in Utilization Management and active involvement in patient care assessments. A minimum of 2 years in a nursing role focusing on utilization review or discharge planning is preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active Registered Nurse license in California.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Proof of a negative TB screen within the past 12 months.
