Night shift, 1800-0600, 24 hours per week. Weekends and holidays will be required. Overtime optional after.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse for the Family Birthing Center (FBC) will independently assess and evaluate the health status of labor and neonate patients. They will collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to develop realistic and measurable goals and implement care interventions. The RN will ensure safe and effective care across the episode of care, documenting all care and patient education efforts.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care during labor, delivery, and postpartum phases, including breastfeeding assistance and education.
- Educate mothers about infant care and promote wellness during pregnancy and after delivery.
- Document all patient events and education in the medical record using computer systems.
- Communicate patient conditions effectively to physicians and nursing supervisors.
- Assist other staff with skill maintenance and learning new procedures and equipment.
- Collaborate with nursery nurses in the care of mother/baby couplets.
- Assist physicians with procedures as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in the FBC unit.
Required Experience
Minimum two years of experience in nursing is required.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current, active license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado.
- BLS and NRP certification required; PALS preferred.
