Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Schedule

7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, with a total of 36 hours scheduled and 24 hours guaranteed. Subject to weekend, holiday, float, and call requirements per departmental guidelines.

Job Description

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality care to expectant mothers and newborns. This includes performing triage, providing couplet care for mothers and babies during the postpartum period, circulating in the OR for cases, and handling baby admits and deliveries. The role may require floating to different facilities as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Perform triage and assess patient needs in the labor and delivery unit.
• Provide couplet care for mother-baby pairs postpartum, ensuring the well-being of both.
• Circulate in the OR during delivery and other related procedures.
• Attend to baby admits and assist in deliveries, ensuring proper initial care for newborns.
• Adapt to weekend, holiday, float, and call requirements as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 24 months of Labor and Delivery experience, with recent experience within the last 12 months.
• Active RN license with no hits in state licensure.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN/AFM from approved vendors.
• Driver's license to verify residency is required.
• Previous travel experience is highly preferred.
