Scheduled shifts are from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Alternate weekends are required, with no call requirements.
Job Description
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at St. David's Round Rock Medical Center is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to provide exceptional care to critically ill patients. The unit has a total of 22 beds and employs a dedicated staff of 60 individuals. The patient nurse ratios typically range from 1:2, with opportunities for 1:1 care based on patient needs. The unit utilizes advanced equipment, including IABP, Impella, Arterial Lines, and more. The electronic medical record system in use is Meditech.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a critical care environment
- Perform rapid sequence intubation and administer medications, including vasopressors and IV sedation
- Utilize advanced monitoring equipment and assist with procedures such as EVD insertions and Thrombectomies
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Required Experience
- Critical care experience is required
- Experience with post-operative cardiac surgery is preferred
Certifications/Licensure
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- Preferred: Trauma credentials (TNCC, CATN, TCAR)
