Schedule/Shift
Schedule includes 36 hours per week with 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend.
Job Description
This position is within a community hospital setting in Northern Mecklenburg County, where the Emergency Department is stroke and chest pain certified. Responsibilities include administering tPa and TNK for stroke patients and managing walk-in STEMI cases for intervention. The ED often works with overcapacity patients, thus support services such as CNA, MUR, and paramedics are available. The unit is equipped with Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis for medication management.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department.
- Conduct triage and manage critical care patients.
- Administer conscious sedation and monitor procedural sedation.
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for patient transfers and care coordination.
Required Experience
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an emergency department setting is required. Candidates must be comfortable caring for patients across the entire age spectrum.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current ACLS, BCLS, NIH stroke scale, PALS certifications are required.
- MOAB certification will be offered by the facility.
- Preferred certifications include ENPC and TNCC.
