Schedule/Shift

This position involves working 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15. Weekend shifts will be required, totaling 12-16 per contract, and candidates may float as necessary.

Job Description

The Neuro Unit is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide care for patients undergoing neuro surgical procedures. This role will involve using EPIC for documentation and requires familiarity with Pyxis for medication management. As a member of a comprehensive care team, the RN will collaborate with various interdisciplinary support services.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications as prescribed and manage IVs, including starting and maintaining IVs.
• Monitor vital signs and interpret telemetry readings related to cardiac health.
• Provide pre- and post-operative care for neurosurgery patients, including management of surgical drains.
• Implement isolation precautions and manage wound care, including wound vacs.
• Participate in therapeutic interventions and patient education tailored to neuro patients.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical or neuro nursing role.
• Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or compact license.

Certifications/Licensure

• BLS certification is required.
• ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications are preferred.
