Schedule/Shift

Full-Time Monday-Friday. Shifts available: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM or 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM.

Job Description

The Licensed Practical Nurse will provide essential care and support to pediatric patients in a primary care setting. The role involves coordinating patient flow, performing nursing assessments, assisting in office procedures, and collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient flow from registration to discharge.
• Perform nursing assessments and document vital signs and patient data in the EMR.
• Prepare patients for office visits, obtaining relevant information for providers.
• Assist providers with office-based procedures and examinations.
• Schedule office visits and surgical procedures, ensuring required prior authorizations.
• Assess patient understanding of health conditions and provide health education.
• Manage patient phone calls and communicate clinical concerns to providers.
• Coordinate prescription refill requests and monitor lab results.
• Perform clinical tasks such as pulmonary function testing, EKGs, phlebotomy, and vaccine administration.
• Conduct CLIA-waived testing and ensure compliance with laboratory protocols.
• Maintain office and medical supply inventory.
• Recognize and respond to medical emergencies according to protocols.

Required Experience

Minimum 1-year experience as an LPN in a physician's practice setting with a focus on pediatrics.

Certifications/Licensure

• NYS LPN license.
• BLS certification (AHA or RQI only).
