Schedule

Part-time day or night shifts as needed by the facility with rotations for weekends and holidays.

Job Description

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse delivers high-quality, compassionate care to patients and families. The ED RN assesses patient needs, establishes urgent care priorities, and provides direct care while evaluating patient progress. Proficient in both invasive and non-invasive procedures, the ED RN manages both life-threatening situations and routine emergencies, all while fostering a relationship-centered approach to alleviate anxiety and ensure comfort.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and prioritize care based on established Triage Standards.
• Conduct holistic assessments, identifying deviations from norms in patients of all age groups.
• Collaborate effectively with interprofessional team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Prepare patients and families for diagnostic procedures and implement appropriate referral processes.
• Provide education and discharge instructions, tailoring sessions to individual patient/family learning styles.
• Maintain clear communication with patients and families throughout the emergency care process.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license in the state.
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI only).
• Minimum of two years of experience in an Emergency Department setting.
