Job Description
We are seeking a Pediatric StepDown Registered Nurse for our rehabilitation unit. The role requires management of pediatric patients with various diagnoses including traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, gunshot wounds, motor vehicle accidents, burns, and feeding disorders. This position involves care for post-operative orthopedic patients requiring extensive speech, physical, and occupational therapy.
Responsibilities
- Manage care for pediatric patients including tracheostomy and ventilator management.
- Monitor progress of rehabilitation for patients with neurological and orthopedic conditions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding care plans and therapies.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric nursing.
- Experience with trach and ventilator management is required.
Certifications / Licensure
- Active RN license in Maryland or Compact State.
- BLS certification is required.
- CPI certification is preferred.
