Cardiovascular Registered Nurse (RN) - Nights

Job Description

The Cardiovascular Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions. As a crucial member of the Cardiovascular Unit (CVU), the RN will care for over 4000 cardiology patients annually, participating in procedures including PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemakers. The unit also specializes in the care of patients with congestive heart failure and electrophysiology studies.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiovascular patients.
• Administer medications and monitor vital signs.
• Assist in various cardiology procedures and interventions.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and medications.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of ICU experience (floating experience is not acceptable).
• EKG experience is mandatory.
• Michigan RN license verification required.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Willingness to float to similar units, including Neuro, CVICU, and Trauma (preferred).
• Experience managing vents, CRRT, and balloon pumps is preferred.
• A completed skills checklist within one year of application is required.

Schedule

This position involves a full-time night shift with 12-hour shifts and a 36-hour weekly guarantee. You may be required to work every other weekend and possible on-call hours.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
