Registered Nurse - ICU Contract Position

Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nursing. The RN will collaborate with physicians to provide a comprehensive plan of care aimed at returning patients to optimal health. Responsibilities include providing bedside nursing care, implementing medical orders, and overseeing the roles of nursing support staff. The RN will also evaluate the effectiveness of care plans, engage in patient education, and actively participate in discharge and transfer planning.

Responsibilities

• Assume a leadership role integrating evidence-based practice into nursing care.
• Delegate and coordinate nursing tasks among staff members.
• Facilitate and participate in patient conferences and education regarding ongoing care.
• Mentor new employees and assist in their professional growth.
• Communicate effectively with both patients and healthcare colleagues.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills through effective planning.

Schedule

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of ICU experience (REQUIRED)
• Open heart experience (REQUIRED)
• Comfortable floating to the Emergency Department (ED) and Step Down Unit (REQUIRED)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (REQUIRED)
• Preferred but not required: TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, SCRN
• Email documentation of certifications as applicable
